The medical placement in Argentina offers a brilliant opportunity for people studying medicine. You can assist in a busy hospital in Unquillo and work alongside medical staff on programmes out in the community; giving advice on nutrition or pregnancy prevention, for example. Within the hospital you can assist with basic duties, observe surgery, work in a variety of departments and see a range of illnesses.
This placement offers you the chance to gain a practical insight into general medicine in Argentina.
You don't need any experience, just an eagerness to learn - whether you are considering a career in medicine, want to do an elective placement or are already fully qualified we will tailor your placement to your abilities and experience so you can grow in confidence and knowledge. You will have the support of a placement supervisor and of course the Projects Abroad staff in the Argentina office and in the UK will always be on hand too!
Argentina is the eighth largest country in the World. It has natural wonders and a unique blend of cultures. A presence of European traditions is heavily felt, with influences from Scandinavia through to Eastern Mediterranean. Argentina has breathtaking landscapes, from desert to mountains and glaciers and there is a wealth of wildlife. To get the most out of this placement you should have intermediate Spanish. Projects Abroad can also arrange a Spanish course for you if you wish to improve your language skills.
Our users say...

"I got a lot more medical experience than you are able to get in England without qualifications. I'm sure this helped with my application to medical school" - Sam Boulter.
