Want to see Norway in a different way? Experience the country of fjords, mountains and glaciers by being a working guest with a Norwegian family so you'll get to know their culture and customs.

You'll take part in the daily routines on a farm or in a tourist establishment and experience the country from the inside.

Programme options

You will have the choice to be a...

- Working Guest in agriculture (picking fruit, harvesting, taking care of animals, milking, etc)
- Working Guest in tourism (housekeeper, cook, waiter or receptionist, etc)

Working Guests work a maximum of 35 hours per week and you are entitled to 1 ½ days off weekly.
You receive a weekly payment of NOK 875 (approximately £75).

What's included in the programme fee?

- Work placement
- Accommodation
- Meals (in cases where meals aren't provided you will get paid extra money)
- Total assistance during your stay in Norway provided by a local representative
- Full-time support

What is not included?

- Your ticket to your host family in Norway

Accommodation

The host family will offer lodging of reasonable / good standard.

As a Working Guest in agriculture you will live with the host family. You may be sharing the kitchen, living room and bathroom with your host family. You are responsible for keeping your room clean and tidy. You will have access to a washing machine for washing your clothes.

Working Guests in tourism may live with the people they work for but most likely you will be given a separate lodging alone or with several others who work at the same place as you do. Usually you will have your meals with the employers and/or your co-workers. If you must pay for your own food you will get paid extra to cover the cost of food.
