With a North America pass you are entitled to:- Coach class travel.
- Unlimited stopovers.
- 30 days of unlimited travel.
- Cheaper passes if you are travelling in off peak periods.
- Children aged 2-11 years inclusive travel for half price when accompanied by a full-fare paying adult.
- Students aged 12-17 years inclusive and those aged 18 years and over with a valid ISIC card are entitled to discounted pass prices.
- Seniors aged 60 years and over are entitled to discounted pass prices.
What you don't get
Extra charges that you will need to budget for are:- Upgrades and sleeping accommodation these will be charged extra.
- In addition to a rail pass you will need a reservation for each train you travel on.
- North America Rail passes are not valid on the Amtrak Auto Train, Acela Express, certain Thruway connections or for certain trains and buses listed in the VIA timetable but operated by companies other than VIA.
