The Northeast region has so many sights packed in to such a small space that it is almost impossible to see it all as part of a larger trip. The Amtrak Northeast Rail Pass is ideal for the more specialised trip allowing you to really uncover what makes this region tick. This whole area is a melting pot of cultures from the City Slickers to the many Amish there is something to interest everyone.Peak periods: 14th December 2007 � 2nd January 2008, 23rd May -1st September 2008. Off peak periods: 4th September � 13th December 2007, 3rd January- 22nd May 2008, 2nd September � 11th December 2008. If any part of your journey falls within a peak period you must purchase a peak period pass.
What you get

- Unlimited coach class travel.
- Travel between the US and Montreal in Canada (on through services only).
- Children 2-15 years inclusive travel for half price when accompanied by a full-fare paying adult. Two children are permitted per adult fare. One child under 2 years of age may travel free with each fare-paying adult.

- Access to any Amtrak train station.

What you don�t get
- Upgrades and sleeping accommodation will be charged extra.
- In addition to a rail pass you will need a reservation for each train you travel on.
- Amtrak passes are not valid on the Auto Train, Acela Express, certain Thruway connections and the Canadian portion of trains operated jointly by Amtrak and Via Rail.
- Services to Toronto from the US � these trains are operated by VIA.
